UPPER SUGAR ROOM

09.30 Overview
Deliveries require specialized knowledge, training, and experience. This in-depth workshop will start with an overview of client and FCM requirements to facilitate deliveries of physical and financial products. This will be followed by a panel discussion intended for both industry delivery staff and customers who intend to take delivery of commodity and energy contracts. The second half of the workshop will go focus on the issues associated with delivery of financial contracts. Both sessions will have opportunity to ask questions to representatives from the major exchanges/clearing houses.

Options exercise and assignment will be covered in the Wednesday 11 June workshops.

10.00 Commodity & Energy Deliveries
This session will cover the unique aspects of physical delivery of commodities including energy products. The exchanges and clearinghouses will begin by covering common questions market participants have about deliveries and problems they have seen such as missed deadlines, exceptions, and what can be done to avoid such problems. Also, delegates will hear an overview of the LME warehousing mechanism and SWORD. The final part of the session will be devoted to questions from the participants.

This session will cover fixed income and equity deliveries including cross-border challenges, buy-in regimes, fines and exceptions. The first part of the session will focus on common issues delivery professionals face. Participants will have the opportunity to have their questions addressed in the second part of the workshop.
